Our industry partner, Bosch Appliances offers some of the most advanced, efficient, and luxurious home appliances. In fact, in 2012, Bosch Appliances received, in addition to other awards, the J.D. Power and Associates® Award for Highest in customer satisfaction with dishwashers.

Bosch appliances are made to last, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to take care of them on a regular basis. Check out these tips on how to properly care for your kitchen appliances.

Oven

From burns and spills, your oven is the one appliance in your kitchen that takes a beating. On a regular schedule, check all parts of your oven for any damage. The sooner you find damages, the better chances you have of extending your oven’s life.

If you have a flat oven top, be sure to clean up any spilled food before it has a chance to burn. If you didn’t catch the spill in time, don’t panic - your oven isn’t ruined. Most burned food can often be removed by very lightly scraping the food with a razor blade or something with a sharp edge.

If you clean your oven once a year, you can use a chemical-free cleaning solution that can fight against grime and grease. All it takes is baking soda, vinegar, and a little bit of elbow grease to get your oven looking new again.

Refrigerator

Think about it, your refrigerator never gets a break. It runs 24/7 and is responsible for keeping your groceries at the perfect temperature. To avoid losing your food stash to a broken down fridge, pay attention to any unusual noises that come from the condenser or evaporator fan motor.

It might be a scary thought, but pull out your fridge and clean behind it. Removing piled on dust from the condenser coils can help ensure proper airflow through the fan.

Dishwasher

Could you imagine washing days worth of dishes by hand? That’s why it’s important to regularly check and clean your dishwasher.

Check your dishwasher’s door gaskets for any signs of loosening or tears. These gaskets are especially important to keep in prime condition since they are keeping the water in the dishwasher and off the floor. When you have a Bosch dishwasher that’s equipped with AquaStop® Plus 4-Part leak protection you can have an ease of mind knowing that it prevents water damage 24/7.

Check periodically underneath the bottom dish rack for any clogs, and remove the filter to rinse out any food that might be trapped. Fight buildup in your dishwasher by running vinegar through a hot cycle.
