The William F. Slattery Student Scholarship

Presented by the American Society of Interior Designers, Pennsylvania West Chapter

2025 Theme: “Better Living through Beautiful Design”

ASID PA West invites interior design students to apply for the William F. Slattery Student Scholarship — an opportunity to showcase creativity, purpose, and design excellence. This year’s theme challenges students to demonstrate how design can enhance comfort, health, and overall well-being.

Theme

“Better Living through Beautiful Design.” Show how interior design can improve daily life through spaces that feel welcoming, functional, and uplifting. Consider how choices in color, light, materials, and layout influence comfort and emotional well-being.

Eligibility

Open to students currently enrolled in any undergraduate interior design program (certificate, associate, or bachelor’s level). Students from all academic years are welcome to apply.

Submission Requirements

  • Submit any completed residential or commercial interior design project.
  • Wellness must be a central, intentional focus of the design.
  • Include visuals such as renderings, mood boards, floor plans, and material samples.
  • Provide a 500–1,000 word written statement explaining your concept, design choices, and how your project promotes well-being.

Awards

Two students will each receive a $1,500 scholarship. Recipients will be recognized at ASID PA West’s 2025 Holiday Luncheon on Friday, December 5, 2025, at The Duquesne Club, 325 Sixth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
